News reports yesterday confirmed the great news that Talisman Resort in the Grey Highlands has been sold to a new ownership group. The resort closed in 2011 and has since fallen into disrepair; the Township of Grey Highlands did take it over when no buyer could be found, however we are thrilled to hear the resort will be given new life. The new ownership group is headed up by Brian Ellis, a real estate developer with over 30 years experience, and plans are underway to revitalize the resort as a hotel and conference centre, complete with a spa and there are also plans to refurbish the golf course. Work will be started immediately and opening is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2015.
It is great to know that Talisman Resort will have a future again, and this new hotel and conference centre will most certainly have a positive impact on our region’s economy, including tourism dollars and job creation.
