On Saturday September 8th, 2018 South Georgian Bay will be hosting the first Diner en Blanc in our region, somewhere in Collingwood. We can’t tell you where – because it’s a secret!
About the Event
All guests must dress elegantly in head-to-toe white. No ivory, no off-white, and no beige… Originality is encouraged, as long as it is stylish and tasteful. Each guest must bring a square folding-table and two white chairs; a white picnic basket and/or bag including a gourmet meal for two, (catered meals and beverages are made available for pre-purchase on the e-store) a white tablecloth and cloth-napkins, cutlery, dishware, and glassware; and a garbage bag.
The event itself is founded in friendship, organic growth, partnership and community. It’s essence is to gather great friends to enjoy a fantastic meal together in an unusual location to celebrate life, friendship and joie de vivre!
On Saturday we will be in our finest whites and meet up to take a bus to the secret location for a chic picnic. The event hosts are Lisa Farano, Lori D’Agostino, Steve Vipond. Yours truly, Karen Willison is a Squad Leader!
We are looking forward to a fantastic evening and will update this post with pictures and video. It is sure to be an amazing event!
The event unfortunately is sold out for this year so be sure to put yourself on the waiting list for 2019!
From the Diner en Blanc Website…
“Over the course of the evening, guests experience the beauty and value of their city’s public spaces by participating in the unexpected. Beyond the spectacle and elegance of the dinner itself, guests are brought together from diverse backgrounds by good taste and a love of beauty. Le Dîner en Blanc recalls the elegance and glamor of high French society, and guests engage one another, knowing that they are taking part in a truly magical event. There are no disruptions: no car traffic, no pedestrian traffic—only amazed and astonished looks from passersby observing the scene before them. And participants, like spectators, wonder whether it’s all not a dream…”

Now, guests in your city have the chance to be part of this chic and festive experience. It’s definitely a not to be missed event of the year!
Le Dîner en Blanc is an evening like no other. Once registration is confirmed, each guests’ participation becomes mandatory, regardless of weather conditions. Participants arrive at a designated departure point with their table, chairs, and picnic materials, and then make their way to the secret location with their Table Leader by chartered bus or organized public transportation. They take all of their belongings with them at the end of the night, including leftovers and trash, and they leave the site as clean as it was upon arrival.
