As we experience some unseasonably warm temperatures this week, it is the perfect reflection of the red hot real estate market in our region. Southern Georgian Bay’s volume and unit sales continued to rocket onward first spiking in the summer, then a brief decline and now leveling off. To put the previous five months in perspective, the region had just under $1.1 billion in volume: that’s 3% more than 2019’s former benchmark high for the entire year!

With low inventory a continued theme, the sales prices are up 24% compared to the same time last year, this is great news for sellers as most properties that hit the market are snapped up in record time averaging 46 days, 13 days less than the time they took to sell last year.

If you live in the area you can understand the draw to our community from an abundance of outdoor activities & world class fine dining, we are quickly becoming a must visit spot. If you haven’t checked out The Pine Restaurant yet in Collingwood, I would put it on my must dine list! Check out their website here: https://www.thepinecollingwood.ca/

I am a firm believer in shopping local, supporting our businesses and taking the time to safely visit stores like Love You Madly in Thornbury, which has a fantastic selection of previously loved items. If you are looking for a special furniture or clothing piece that isn’t from a big box store, I would definitely take a peek.

Please as always continue to stay safe, wear a mask and hopefully you enjoyed the warm weather we have had as ski season is just around the corner!
