Levaero Aviation Celebrates Grand Opening of New Hangar at Collingwood Regional Airport
Collingwood, Ontario – October 7, 2025
Community leaders, elected officials, and aviation professionals gathered this week to celebrate the official opening of Levaero Aviation’s new 12,000-square-foot hangar at the Collingwood Regional Airport — marking a significant investment in the region’s growing aviation and business infrastructure. Congratulations to Steve Davey, Executive Vice President & COO on this momentous occasion.
Speaking on behalf of Levaero Aviation, Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Stan Kuliavas, welcomed guests and reflected on the company’s journey from humble beginnings nearly thirty years ago to becoming one of Canada’s leading full-service aviation firms.
“What started in an ATCO trailer with a handful of staff has grown into a group of companies employing more than 100 people,” said Kuliavas. “This new facility represents not only our growth, but also our long-term commitment to Collingwood, the surrounding communities, and the entire Southern Georgian Bay area.”
Founded nearly three decades ago, Levaero Aviation has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise encompassing aircraft sales and acquisitions, maintenance, parts distribution, 24/7 support, aircraft life extensions, interior refurbishments, and charter and management services. As Canada’s exclusive Authorized Sales and Service Centre for Pilatus Aircraft, Levaero supports the renowned PC-12 and PC-24 — aircraft that serve a range of purposes, from executive travel to critical medical transport and remote community supply missions.
Kuliavas emphasized that the new Collingwood facility will maintain and service business aircraft, including Pilatus models, further positioning the Collingwood Regional Airport as a key hub for aviation in central Ontario. “These aircraft are lifelines for many,” he said. “Here, we’ll ensure they remain safe, reliable, and ready to serve.”
The event drew numerous dignitaries and local business figures, including Mayor Doug Measures of Clearview Township, Geordie Dalglish, Owner and President of the Collingwood Regional Airport, and members of the Levaero Group of Companies. Kuliavas acknowledged the warm welcome Levaero has received from the local aviation community, highlighting support from industry partners and community leaders such as Kevin Elwood, Adam and Traci MacCabe, and Maurice Byrne.
Levaero’s deep community ties were also on display. Many of its team members hail from the region, including Chief Operating Officer Steve Davey, whose father, R.A. (Bob) Davey, is commemorated through the local water reservoir and pumping station. The company’s longstanding sponsorship and fundraising leadership in the 24H Blue Mountain charity ski race — benefitting Special Olympics Ontario and the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital — underscores its commitment to giving back.
Kuliavas also noted the economic impact of business aviation in Canada, calling it a “force multiplier” that supports over 50,000 jobs and contributes nearly $18 billion in total output annually. “Business aviation is not a luxury — it’s essential infrastructure,” he said. “And we’re proud to help grow that right here in Southern Georgian Bay.”
Guests enjoyed locally sourced food and beverages following the formal remarks, and were invited to sign a commemorative charcoal artwork created by a family member of a Levaero team member to mark the occasion.
In closing, Kuliavas reflected on the broader significance of the day:
“What we’re opening today is more than a hangar. It’s a foundation for growth — for our company, for this airport, and for this community. Business is always more rewarding when it’s shared with people you genuinely enjoy working alongside, and that spirit is alive in this room today.”
With the opening of this state-of-the-art facility, Levaero Aviation becomes the first major OEM-affiliated business to establish operations at the Collingwood Regional Airport — signaling a bright future for aviation and economic development across the region.
